Steve Via, MS, directs Federal Relations for the American Water Works Association (AWWA), an international, nonprofit, scientific and educational society founded in 1881 and dedicated to providing total water solutions assuring the effective management of water. He has more than 30 years’ professional experience in environmental regulatory compliance.

 

AWWA is the largest organization of water supply professionals in the world. Via’s primary responsibilities include working with the Environmental Protection Agency and other federal agencies to develop policy and regulations that affect the water sector and communicating about federal policy and regulations to water sector professionals. Via has a BS in Environmental Sciences from University of Virginia and an MS in Environmental Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech.
