Melanie Mow Schumacher, PE, is the Special Projects-Communications Manager at Soquel Creek Water District where she is responsible for all District communication, outreach, and education programs. She helped develop the district’s first organization-wide strategic plan and emergency response plan and is responsible for the District’s Public Outreach Program.

Mow Schumacher is also the Program Director for the Pure Water Soquel Program, which will recycle 25 percent of the treated effluent that is currently discharged to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary for beneficial reuse to protect the Santa Cruz Mid-County groundwater basin from further seawater contamination.

Mow Schumacher is a registered civil engineer in California. She earned her BS in civil engineering from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and an MS in Public Administration from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
