Daniel Gerrity, PhD, PE, is a Principal Research Scientist at the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), and is an expert in water and wastewater treatment technologies. His work focuses on the sustainability of advanced treatment trains for potable reuse applications, including the life cycle costs and public health protection of indirect vs. direct potable reuse.

He has worked as a consulting engineer, a research scientist, and an academic. He was on the faculty at University of Nevada Las Vegas in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Construction from 2012-2019. At SNWA, he researches emerging microbiological issues in the water industry.
Gerrity has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and authored or co-authored textbook chapters, white papers, and professional reports. He is also a licensed Civil Engineer in Nevada. He has a BSE, MSE, and PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Arizona State University.
