Anya Kaufmann, PE, is a Senior Engineer with Trussell Technologies, Inc., and is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California. Kaufmann specializes in permitting and planning potable reuse projects. She used her potable reuse permitting experience to advance direct potable reuse (DPR) in California and participated in one of the key research projects for the State Water Resources Control Board, DPR-1, to develop a consistent framework for quantitative microbial risk assessment.

 

Kaufmann was instrumental in supporting the regulatory and permitting approach for the Pure Water San Diego Program and the East County Advanced Water Purification Project, the first two reservoir water augmentation projects in California. She has a BS and an MS in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University and Stanford University, respectively.
